Ryan Thomas, a director on the LNRCC Board and chairman of the Non-Profit Committee, will share with members how to network through volunteerism.

Ryan was born in Massachusetts and raised in NH.  He majored in English with a minor in Philosophy from the University of NH.  He and his wife Jessica are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary this year and their daughter is turning 16.  They moved to Lake Nona in August of 2016 for better weather and to be close to Disney.  He has been an entrepreneur since he was 11 when he had a paper route, he was buying packs of gum and selling pieces to friends at school for a profit and he did odd jobs for people in his town such as mowing lawns, raking leaves and shoveling snow.  He started Running Wireless right out of college, a Sprint PCS reseller,  then a Mortgage company at the young age of 23 and a real estate company at 31.

Ryan has volunteered and been a part of his community he has lived in since he was a child.  He has volunteered in school, in his community, at homeless shelters and with non-profits through his entire life. He has attributed a lot of his success to this.  It is through his leadership and volunteerism that he has made valuable connections and gotten involved in the fabric of the communities he has lived in.

Ryan has spoken in front of many large audiences including the University of New Hampshire, where, as a local leader was asked to speak about. “Lessons in Leadership”.  He has been a board member of multiple non-profits, this chamber, and he has been a leading fundraiser and participant for Relay for Life for over 14 years, Ride for Ronald, American Heart Association and many more. He has started two non-profits both in conjunction with getting local leaders together to help support local charities.  In all of his spare time he has also participated in High School and college mentorship programs, done public speaking, life coaching, fundraising, coached the 2018/19 lake Nona Speech and Debate Club and does SAT tutoring.
