Dr. Felix is a board-certified Sports and Emergency Medicine physician with a practice in Orlando, Florida, part of Florida Hospital Medical Group.
Dr. Felix has gained extensive experience in Sports Medicine at the elite university and professional level, serving as a team physician at Duke University and former Per Diem Medical Director/Event Physician for the National Basketball Association. He has provided the medical planning, organization of medical logistics and event coverage at events like the NBA Finals, NBA All-Stars and NBA Global Games since 2010. He had the privilege of being part of the NBA’s medical delegation for USA Basketball at the London Olympics in 2012 and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Dr. Felix started a PhD program at Concordia University, Chicago in Health and Human Performance (degree expected 2019). During his free time, he participates in medical journalism, providing expertise in the fields of general, emergency and sports medicine as a consultant to CNN Español and Telemundo Networks.
Dr. Felix completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, Durham North Carolina. In addition, he graduated from the UCC School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the Cooper University Hospital/UMDMJ. Dr. Felix is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
